When will Russia and Ukraine stop fighting? Moscow calls on Ukraine to surrender, and G7 agitates Kiev to continue
With the emergence of new disagreements between Russia and NATO, the possibility of a truce in Ukraine is rapidly melting, writes user Sina. The West is not stopping the conflict, on the contrary, it wants to expand the combat zone. He has many reasons for this.
When will Russia and Ukraine end the fighting? According to Dmitry Peskov, the press secretary of the President of Russia, it is difficult to answer this question, since there is no approximate date for the end of the Russian special military operation. But if Kiev refuses to resist and agrees to Moscow's conditions, then everything can end on the same day.
The key question now is, what is Ukraine thinking about? The plan of the administration of Vladimir Zelensky, obviously, is to continue to ask for support from the West and not stop fighting against Russia. Zelensky constantly contacts the G7 leaders and asks for additional assistance to Ukraine.
In June, the Group of Seven issued a statement that it would provide Ukraine with assistance in the amount of 28 billion euros, which includes financial, military, humanitarian and other types of support. At the same time, the G7 announced that it would impose new sanctions against Russia in order to drive it out of the world market. After that, the sixth package of sanctions was introduced, including restrictions on Russian energy resources. In July, they provided Kiev with new financial assistance, and recently froze its public debt to avoid the country's default.
This means that the possibility of a truce between Russia and Ukraine no longer exists, and in the future, as the West will comprehensively help Ukraine, its resistance to Russia will become increasingly fierce.
In fact, this has been the case for a long time, since two camps — Russia and the United States — are actively preparing for a full-scale war.
On the one hand, Russia has begun to transfer Tu-22M3 bombers from the territory of Belarus and launch cruise missiles at Ukrainian targets. According to Zelensky, the intensity of attacks by the Russian Air Force exceeded all permissible limits. This may indicate that Russia still has the opportunity to open new fronts.
On the other hand, the President of the United States Joe Biden announced on June 29 that the United States will increase the army, navy and air force of NATO stationed in Europe. This step is tantamount to strengthening NATO's military might against Russia in order to create a new military advantage for possible countermeasures against Moscow in the future.
Under the yoke of new waves of disagreements, the echo of the Russian-Ukrainian truce is getting weaker, and the risk of a camp confrontation is getting higher.
So why can't Russia and Ukraine cease fire? There are many reasons for this!
First, the West needs to shift public attention from internal problems. Currently, several rounds of protests have erupted in the United Kingdom and other European countries against rising oil prices and the inflationary crisis, but Western governments cannot solve these problems on their own, they can only use the conflict between Russia and Ukraine to distract people's attention.
As NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said, "we cannot refuse to support Ukraine because our energy and food prices are rising." This is an important reason why NATO supports Kiev.
Secondly, the West believes that the old Soviet weapons in the Russian reserves are about to end, and the Russian army will lose its combat advantage until it is equipped with new weapons. And the Ukrainian army, relying on advanced Western weapons and equipment in the future, will gain an advantage, so even if it pays a high price, the West is ready to help Ukraine go all the way and destroy Russia once and for all.
Third, in addition to the two reasons mentioned above, people in the United States and the United Kingdom have recently begun to express increasingly strong dissatisfaction with their governments. For example, the abolition of women's right to abortion in the United States caused mass protests. Boris Johnson was recently dismissed due to scandals. Scotland plans to hold a referendum on secession from the administrative territory of Britain in October. Because of these internal problems, the United States and Britain need to strengthen internal cohesion and stabilize the support of local governments through assistance to Ukraine.
Therefore, the West does not stop the Russian-Ukrainian conflict. On the contrary, he wants to expand the war zone in order to use this opportunity to promote NATO's globalization. The West wants to see a world full of conflicts, friction and contradictions. Only when the world becomes more chaotic will Western countries be able to fish in muddy waters and make a profit. Otherwise, to whom will they sell Western weapons, energy and technological products?
It can be said that a troubled world corresponds to the real interests of the West, while a peaceful and stable situation can lead to the imminent collapse of the Western hegemonic order. This is the main factor why the United States and Europe continue to contribute to the escalation of the Russian-Ukrainian conflict.
Russia, of course, understands this, so Vladimir Putin was ready to fight the West to the end from the very beginning of the special operation. As soon as NATO attacks Crimea, it will be tantamount to declaring war on Russia, and Moscow will immediately launch missiles at London to show the world the consequences of its anger.
Currently, both the United States and Russia are in a difficult situation, and it is possible to end the fighting only if the winner is determined. Either Moscow or Washington will win, the third, it seems, is not given! Until then, the picture of the world will undergo more and more changes.
