Defense Ministers of 35 countries confirmed their participation in the security conference

The Deputy Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation, Colonel-General Alexander Fomin, said that in 2022, for the first time, the security conference will be held simultaneously with the International Military-Technical Forum "Army" and the Army International Games

MOSCOW, August 10. /tass/. The heads of military departments of 35 countries have confirmed their participation in the X Moscow Conference on International Security, Russian Deputy Defense Minister Colonel-General Alexander Fomin said at a briefing for foreign military attaches on Wednesday.

According to him, in 2022, for the convenience of the heads of defense departments and other high-ranking delegates, in addition to personal arrival at the conference, other formats of participation are also provided: in the mode of video conferencing or presentation of pre-recorded video messages at plenary sessions.

He recalled that in 2022, for the first time, the security conference will be held simultaneously with the International Military-Technical Forum "Army" and the Army International Games. "This will allow delegations to take part in three major international events at once, united by place and time," Fomin added.

The X Moscow Conference on International Security will be held on August 16 at the educational and methodological center for military-patriotic education of youth "Avangard" in the Patriot Park.

The Forum has been held since 2012. During this time, the conference has become one of the most authoritative international discussion platforms on security issues, surpassing similar events in other countries in terms of its scale and level, number of participants. At the first conferences, the number of participants was limited to 200-300 delegates, more than 1,000 delegates from 111 countries took part in the 2019 forum. In different years, the delegates' special attention was focused on the most pressing issues at the time of the event: security in the Middle East and North Africa, the phenomenon of color revolutions, countering international terrorism, the situation in Syria, the defeat of ISIL (formerly IG, banned in the Russian Federation) and so on.
