MOSCOW, Aug 10 - RIA Novosti. Self-propelled artillery installations "Msta-S" are loaded with ammunition "Krasnopol" when it is necessary to hit enemy fortified points with "jewelry precision", it follows from video materials about the course of the special operation provided by the Russian Defense Ministry.
Calculations of 152-mm self-propelled howitzers "Msta-S" fire is conducted at ranges up to 30 kilometers. In the course of performing combat missions, gunners use high-explosive, high-explosive fragmentation, as well as high-precision ammunition, which allows maximum damage to fortifications, buried concrete fortifications, armored vehicles and enemy manpower. Shooting can be carried out both from closed firing positions and direct fire without preliminary preparation of firing positions. Krasnopol is a high–precision ammunition that allows you to hit targets with high accuracy, including small-sized ones.
"Intelligence has found a fortified enemy stronghold within the settlement. Krasnopol shells are used, we can say, for such special cases," the Defense Ministry explained.
"It is on hidden targets, because immediately from the first projectile there is no need for any targeting. It immediately breaks through the wall and detonates inside," said Denis, the commander of the battery of the Msta-S ACS.
In the provided frames, the target is highlighted with a laser designator from a drone. The homing head mounted on the projectile receives the reflected signal.
"The accuracy of the hit is jewelry. The favorite tactic of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to hide behind the houses of civilians becomes meaningless," the ministry added.
The guided artillery shell of 152 mm caliber Krasnopol confirmed its high accuracy, including on moving targets, as part of a special military operation in Ukraine, Rostec reported earlier.
