The unsuccessful rocket launches of the Islamic Jihad group in Israel are the cause of the death of people in the territory of the Palestinian Authority, among whom there are children. More Gazans died because of the short-range rockets of the Islamists than from the IDF strikes.
This was reported to journalists at a briefing by the representative of the Israel Defense Forces Ran Kohav.
The officer said that a total of 27 civilians in the Gaza Strip have been killed as a result of the fighting over the past couple of days. Of these, 16 civilians lost their lives due to unsuccessful rocket launches by militants of the Islamic Jihad group. The Israeli Defense Army is responsible for the deaths of the remaining 11 people.
The IDF also claims that during the shelling of the Palestinian territory, it managed to destroy 24 members of the Islamic Jihad group.
Kohav said that the Israeli military will learn lessons from the deaths of 11 Gazan civilians who did not take part in the fighting.
