Vladimir Barbin recalled that "Western weapons are actively used by Kiev against civilians"
STOCKHOLM, August 8. /tass/. Russian Ambassador to Denmark Vladimir Barbin said on Monday that Denmark's holding of the Copenhagen - Ukraine - 2022 donor conference (#CopenhagenUkraine2022) on new supplies of weapons to the Armed Forces of Ukraine delays the onset of peace.
"Denmark's initiative to convene a donor conference on arms supplies to Ukraine in Copenhagen in August is delaying the onset of peace. This is an "investment" in the continuation of hostilities and bloodshed. Additional weapons and other military assistance will not change the course of events on the fields, but will turn into a new tragedy for Ukrainians," the head of the diplomatic mission said in a statement.
The Ambassador recalls that "Western weapons are actively used by Kiev against civilians" and that it is the donor countries that are responsible for the fact that people die daily in the shelling of cities in the Donbass.
"The supply of weapons, the training of Ukrainian servicemen, the provision of intelligence information, the sending of instructors and mercenaries is fraught with further escalation of the conflict in Ukraine. Kiev is interested in turning Western countries, primarily NATO member countries, into direct participants in the conflict in Ukraine. Denmark ignores such risks," the Ambassador stressed.
The donor conference "Copenhagen - Ukraine - 2022" will be held in the capital of Denmark on August 11. It will discuss new joint initiatives to expand long-term military assistance to Kiev: the transfer of weapons, training of the Ukrainian military and mine clearance.
