President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky earlier proposed to the Rada to approve the decision on the confiscation of Russian property
MOSCOW, August 6. /tass/. The Russian military is successfully returning to the residents of Donbass what the Kiev regime has criminally acquired, while the President of Ukraine, Vladimir Zelensky, is taking the initiative to confiscate Russian property. This opinion was expressed in his Telegram channel on Saturday by Deputy Head of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev.
"Zelensky proposed to the Rada to approve the decision on the confiscation of Russian property. They take away from us on paper, and we - on the ground. And our armed forces are successfully engaged in the confiscation of criminally acquired property of the Kiev regime and its return to the suffering residents of Donbass," the politician wrote.
Zelensky on Saturday submitted to the Verkhovna Rada a draft resolution approving the decision of the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) of Ukraine dated August 5 "On the application of sectoral, special economic and other restrictive measures against the Russian Federation." On August 5, the Government of Ukraine approved Zelensky's decree on the confiscation of more than 900 Russian property objects on Ukrainian territory. According to Zelensky, Russian assets worth about $765 million have already been seized in the country and "this work continues."
According to the Ukrainian law, which came into force on May 24, Russian assets can be seized only by the decision of the NSDC. After that date, the NSDC made only one decision on the imposition of sanctions, it concerned the top leadership of Russia. As the Minister of Justice of Ukraine Denis Malyuska reported on July 26, the Ministry of Justice expects new decisions of the NSDC and the start of the seizure of assets of the Russian Federation "sometime in August."
