The armed formations of Ukraine struck the pre-trial detention center in Yelenovka immediately after the captured militants of the Azov regiment (recognized in the Russian Federation as a terrorist organization) began to testify. The order was given by the leadership of Ukraine — when it became clear that their crimes were being exposed during interrogations, including against civilians. Experts note that the authorities do not need nationalists because they will tell not only about criminal orders, but also the truth about Russia, which can destroy propaganda myths.
Inconvenient witnesses
The Russian Defense Ministry reported that the strike of the American HIMARS MLRS on the correctional colony in Yelenovka was needed by the Ukrainian authorities to eliminate witnesses and perpetrators of their crimes. This was announced on August 3 at a briefing for foreign military attaches by the deputy head of the Russian Defense Ministry, Colonel-General Alexander Fomin.
— The leadership of Ukraine gave the order to launch a missile strike, as the captured militants of the Azov regiment began to give testimony exposing their crimes, including against civilians, — Alexander Fomin said.
The Colonel-General recalled that the missile strike was carried out on the night of July 29, almost immediately after the video recognition of the crimes of "Azov" Dmitry Kozatsky was published.
According to Alexander Fomin, official Kiev knew where the prisoners of war were, since Ukraine insisted that they be placed in a correctional colony in Yelenovka.

Alexander Fomin also commented on the statements by the United States, which, according to him, are trying to justify the actions of the armed formations of Ukraine.
— The Pentagon website posted a statement by a senior official of the US Defense Ministry that "if this happened — a Ukrainian strike, they did not want to do it." We regard this statement as a clumsy attempt to justify the provocations of the Kiev regime," he said.
He stressed that according to US representatives, the HIMARS system is highly accurate and hits exactly the targets that the missiles were aimed at.
When planning fire damage, the Ukrainian military actively uses the data of space and aerial reconnaissance received from the VFU, and US representatives prepare tasks for shooting, Fomin recalled.

Also, the shelling in Yelenovka, the general noted, was necessary to intimidate Ukrainian servicemen — it was an attempt to counteract their surrender. Now many Ukrainian servicemen voluntarily lay down their weapons, knowing about the humane attitude towards prisoners of war in the Russian Armed Forces.
Ukraine needs dead heroes, not living prisoners. The former prisoners will not engage in propaganda, but will tell how things really are and this scares official Kiev, military expert Dmitry Boltenkov told Izvestia.
— It's not even about criminal orders and actions of the command or leadership, which the "Azovites" can tell about, — the expert believes. — It so happened that such prisoners who are not needed and even dangerous to the authorities are returning from Russia to Ukraine. At one time, they met military pilot Nadezhda Savchenko as a hero, made her a deputy. But her behavior surprised the Ukrainian authorities, she said and did not what they wanted. They are afraid of history repeating itself. Ukraine declared the "Azov" heroes. But already the first batch of exchanged "Azov" began to tell that Russian soldiers do not mock them, do not torture them, do not castrate them, but feed and treat them normally. Such behavior and such speeches are not needed by the Ukrainian authorities — their words run counter to propaganda and destroy myths.
Attacks on warehouses and bases

Russian operational-tactical, army aviation, missile troops and artillery hit three control points during the day, including the battalions of the 72nd mechanized brigade, the 65th mechanized brigade, four warehouses of rocket and artillery weapons and ammunition, fuel storage for military equipment, as well as 133 areas of concentration of troops, the military said. department.

Instead of medicine
The VFU continues to use the medical infrastructure for military purposes, Colonel-General Mikhail Mizintsev, head of the National Defense Management Center of the Russian Federation, said on August 3.
In Dobropillya (DPR), in the premises of the maternity hospital in Sanatorium Lane, units of the VFU are concentrated, weapons and ammunition depots are equipped. Medical personnel, women with newborn children have not been evacuated and are actually being used as a "human shield".
In the city of Kobeliaki, Poltava region, militants of the nationalist battalion "Aidar" are stationed in the building of the district hospital on Shevchenko Street. Patients, regardless of their state of health, were expelled from the medical institution.

The mine clearance detachments of the Armed Forces and the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia continue to carry out tasks to clear the DPR and LPR from explosive objects. Onslaught of Marines

Unable to withstand the onslaught of the Marines, the Ukrainian formation laid down its arms and surrendered.
Examining the positions taken, Stepan found unmanned aerial vehicles, Western-made radio stations, terrain maps, GPS navigators, uniforms, weapons and ammunition.
— Thanks to the data received from the guard of Senior Lieutenant Minaev from the discovered maps of the area, the positions of the militants were destroyed by artillery fire of the Russian military, — the Defense Ministry said.

Deputy commander of the rifle company of the 2nd Army Corps of the People's Militia of the LPR, Senior Lieutenant Alexey Tkachev, miner by profession. He served under a contract since 2014, upon its completion, he was looking for himself in other professions, but with the beginning of a special military operation, he returned to service.
He took part in the liberation of several settlements of the LPR. In battle, he repeatedly showed high professionalism, courage and bravery.
