According to Douglas McGregor, the department, in turn, uses the funds to pay for the services of private companies producing military equipment under contracts with the US Defense Ministry.
NEW YORK, July 31. /tass/. Retired Colonel Douglas McGregor, a former adviser to the Secretary of Defense in the administration of Donald Trump, believes that a significant part of the funds allocated by the United States to Ukraine are deposited in the Pentagon. He expressed this opinion on Sunday in an interview with Judging Freedom podcast host Judge Napolitano.
Talking about how effective the military assistance provided to Kiev by Washington is, McGregor stressed that "we should not lose sight of where this money ends up." "These billions of dollars - where are they going? Most of them do not reach Ukraine," the former adviser to the head of the Pentagon stressed.
"Most of these funds go to the US Department of Defense to compensate the Armed Forces for the transfer of equipment and resources to Europe," McGregor stated. According to him, the Pentagon, in turn, uses the funds to pay for the services of private companies that produce military equipment under contracts with the US Defense Ministry. "Simply put, these funds are used to enrich those who are important to lawmakers on the eve of the elections [to the US Congress scheduled for November this year]," the ex-colonel concluded.
On February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a special military operation in Ukraine in connection with the request of the leaders of the republics of Donbass for help. He stressed that Moscow's plans do not include the occupation of Ukrainian territories, and the goals are demilitarization and denazification of the country. The West, in response to the decision of the Russian Federation, began to gradually impose numerous large-scale sanctions against it. Along with this, he began to supply weapons and military equipment to Kiev for amounts estimated at this stage in billions of dollars. A number of Western politicians have admitted that it is, in fact, an economic war against Russia. As Putin stated on March 16, the sanctions policy aimed at deterring the Russian Federation has all the signs of aggression and is a long-term strategy of the West.
