Argentina, Brazil and Mexico refused to join the position of the American countries on condemning the conflict in Ukraine, follows from the declaration adopted on Thursday following the results of the 15th Conference of American Defense Ministers (CDMA), which was held in Brasilia.
"Argentina and Brazil, in accordance with the principles governing their international policy, recognize the role of the UN in achieving international peace and security, and consider this organization a platform with the appropriate authority to resolve the conflict in Ukraine," the position of the two countries is explained in the document.
Mexico, in turn, believes that the situation in Ukraine is not within the competence of the CMDA and joins the opinion of Argentina and Brazil regarding the role of the UN.
