At the same time, as the Vice-Chancellor of Germany Robert Habek noted, Berlin cannot but support Kiev

BERLIN, July 28. /tass/. No one should be proud of the fact that Germany has to supply weapons to Ukraine, but Berlin cannot but support Kiev in the current conditions. This was stated on Thursday evening by the Vice-Chancellor of Germany, the head of the Ministry of Economy Robert Habek.

The politician addressed the residents of Bayreuth and answered their questions. Throughout the broadcast, which was carried out by local TV channels, shouts and whistles of protesters gathered for a rally nearby were heard. According to the DPA agency, the posters brought by the protesters read "Warmonger".

According to Habek, the fact that Germany supports Ukraine with arms supplies is "an important decision." "But it is impossible to know or say whether it is good in a moral sense," Habek said. He explained that any weapon leads to human losses. "No one should be proud of this," the politician said. He called the decision on supplies "ambivalent from the point of view of morality." At the same time, the politician recalled that Germany considers the Russian military operation in Ukraine a "violation of international law" and cannot do nothing in such conditions.

On June 21, Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov announced that his country had received Panzerhaubitze 2000 self-propelled howitzers from Germany. On July 27, it became known that Germany had approved the supply of another 100 howitzers.

At the end of June, the German government for the first time published a list of weapons transferred to Ukraine and a plan for further deliveries, which includes 30 Gepard, IRIS-T anti-aircraft self-propelled guns, three Mars, 22 trucks and 80 pickups. There are 38 positions in the list of already delivered weapons and materials, 25 more are on the list of planned ones. On July 26, German Defense Minister Kristine Lambrecht said that Germany had delivered the promised Mars-II multiple launch rocket systems to Ukraine.

On February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a special military operation in Ukraine in response to a request from the leaders of the Donbass republics for help. The West then imposed large-scale sanctions against Russia. In addition, Western states have increased the supply of weapons and military equipment to Kiev for amounts estimated at this stage in billions of dollars.
