As Sheikh Hasina noted, as a result of the events in Ukraine, sanctions that threaten the global economy followed
NEW DELHI, July 28. /tass/. Only arms-producing countries benefit from the situation in Ukraine. This opinion was expressed on Thursday by the Prime Minister of Bangladesh, Sheikh Hasina.
"We are witnessing that [from the crisis in Ukraine] only weapon-producing countries benefit," the United News Bangladesh news portal quotes her as saying.
According to the Prime Minister, as a result of the events in Ukraine, sanctions have followed, threatening the global economy. "Developed countries face serious problems. Now they have started saving electricity and fuel, are worried about food security and are taking various steps," the Prime Minister of the South Asian country said.
She drew attention to the fact that countries such as Bangladesh, which are striving to become developed, face obstacles on this path. "In order to save fuel, all countries have taken various initiatives, and we are also monitoring this," she added.
On February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a special military operation in response to a request from the leaders of the Donbass republics for help. He stressed that Moscow's plans do not include the occupation of Ukrainian territories. After that, the United States, the EU, the United Kingdom, as well as a number of other states imposed large-scale anti-Russian sanctions and increased the supply of weapons to the Ukrainian authorities.
