The Russian Defense Ministry claims that the SBU is preparing a provocation with the use of hexane in Slavyansk
The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation announced that the SBU was preparing a provocation with the use of hexane in Slavyansk. According to the agency, the special services plan to blow up more than 120 tons of hexane at the fat-and-oil plant and accuse the Russian military of indiscriminate strikes on dangerous objects. The Ministry also reported an attempt by the Ukrainian military to land on boats near Kherson. According to the ministry, two landing boats of the Ukrainian Navy were destroyed.
The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation believes that employees of the Security Service of Ukraine are preparing a provocation in Slavyansk in the DPR using highly toxic substances.
According to the ministry, in the coming days, the SBU plans to blow up containers with hexane with a total volume of more than 120 tons at the fat-and-oil plant.
The head of the National Defense Control Center of the Russian Federation, Colonel-General Mikhail Mizintsev, warned residents of Slavyansk about a possible incident.
According to him, the Ukrainian side wants to accuse the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation and the DPR formations of indiscriminate strikes on potentially dangerous objects. Mizintsev claims that the Ukrainian authorities plan to widely cover the provocation in the media.
When the tanks are blown up, the toxic cloud will spread more than 10 km.
"All residential areas of Slavyansk and nearby settlements will be in the zone of chemical destruction," the Colonel-general said.
What is the danger of hexane?
Hexane is a powerful neurotoxin and carcinogen that has an irritating effect on the skin, the department said. The substance, when inhaled, affects the lungs, acts as a strong drug, causes drowsiness, dizziness and eye irritation, affects the peripheral nervous system, depresses the central nervous system.
In addition, hexane can self-ignite at a temperature of plus 23-38 ° C, so an explosion can occur due to the abnormally high air temperature established in the Slavyansky district. The department advised residents of Slavyansk to take shelter in the premises, tightly close the windows and doors.
The Russian Defense Ministry appealed to the UN, the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons and the International Red Cross to influence the circumstances and prevent the tragedy.
An attempt at a counteroffensive in the Kharkiv direction
The People's Militia of the LPR and the armed forces of the Russian Federation stopped the attempt of the Ukrainian battalion "Kraken" to break through the defense in the Kharkiv direction, the commander of the 206th infantry regiment of the People's Militia of the LPR with the call sign "Apostol" told RIA Novosti.
"The unit known to all of us, the Kraken, had an insidious plan to break through the defense line on the northern outskirts of Kharkov, but its plan was revealed, and, accordingly, the enemy was stopped at the nearest approaches to our strong points, to our line of defense. And our artillery, including heavy equipment, inflicted maximum fire damage on him," the military said.
According to him, the Kraken was forced to "abandon its insidious plan" - to break through the defense line and advance to the borders of Russia.
In addition, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation reported an attempt by the Ukrainian military to land on boats near Kherson.
According to the agency, in the water area of the Dnieper estuary, an attempt by the Ukrainian military to advance and land from high-speed landing boats on the territory of the Kherson region was stopped.
On July 14, the Russian Defense Ministry said that the Russian military destroyed up to 200 Ukrainian soldiers, including fighters of the Kraken battalion, with precision strikes in Kharkiv.
During the military operation, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation and the LPR took control of part of the Kharkiv region. In the territories controlled by Russia, four district administrations have been established with centers in the cities of Volchansk, Izyum, Kupyansk and the village of Kazachya Lopan. The region uses a dual currency system - both the Ukrainian hryvnia and the Russian ruble are in use. Members of the administrations have repeatedly talked about the possibility of holding a referendum to join Russia.
