Stremousov said that the APU struck from HIMARS on the bridge at the dam of the Kakhovskaya HPP
Kirill Stremousov, deputy head of the administration of the Kherson region, said that a bridge near the Kakhovskaya HPP, as well as a bridge over the Ingulets River near the village of Daryevka, were fired from Ukraine. He is sure that the Americans fired at the second bridge from the MLRS M142 HIMARS.
"Everything is successful"
Kirill Stremousov told RIA Novosti that as a result of a strike by Ukrainian troops on a bridge near the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power station, holes appeared in it, but it was not destroyed, the dam was also not damaged. The head of the district administration, Vladimir Leontiev, confirmed to the agency that the missile attack was repelled.
"Everything was shot down, everything was successful. There were no serious injuries. There were minor injuries, but nothing serious. All this is a trifle," added Stremousov.
The press service of the administration of the Kakhovsky district told TASS that the Armed Forces of Ukraine fired at least seven shells at the Kakhovskaya HPP area on Saturday morning.
"At 05:07 Moscow time there were about seven arrivals. Smoke was noticed in the area of the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power station, they were beaten there," the administration representative said.
Bridge over Ingulets
Stremousov also told TASS about the shelling of a bridge across the Ingulets River in the Kherson region. According to him, multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS) M142 HIMARS (High Mobility Artillery Rocket System) were used.
"A blow was struck on the Daryevsky Bridge (the bridge over the Ingulets River in the village of Daryevka - "Newspaper.Ru»). Seven shells hit the object," he said.
The Deputy Head of the administration of the Kherson region stressed that the air defense system is now being strengthened in the region to intercept all shells fired from the HIMARS MLRS.
He also clarified that the shelled bridge is not of strategic importance, it has survived, so traffic on it was not blocked. And Antonovsky Bridge was not shelled on Saturday. According to Stremousov, this is due to the fact that he is now reliably covered by air defense.
"Antonovsky Bridge was not shelled today. They tried for several days, two days ago they tried again, but all 12 missiles were shot down. Then they realized that the air defense system had been strengthened on our side, that it was useless to shoot at the bridge, and they stopped trying," the deputy head of the administration said.
According to Stremousov, there were no casualties as a result of Saturday's shelling.
He is also sure that the Ukrainian military would not be able to control the HIMARS MLRS with satellite guidance, so the Americans are firing.
"It's not the Ukrainians who are shooting, the Americans are shooting with Hymers - this is 100%, because there is a complex guidance system via satellite, which they are hitting point-by-point. The button is ordinary and any fool can press it, but here we need to work with a complex system. These are American weapons, American satellites - after all, there are no Ukrainian satellites. So this is the work of Americans who dream that this war will be eternal," Stremousov told TASS.
Frequent attacks
In recent weeks, the Ukrainian army has intensified the shelling of the hydroelectric power station in Novaya Kakhovka from the HIMARS MLRS. A particularly powerful blow was struck by the APU on the night of July 12 - then warehouses with saltpeter exploded, people were killed and injured. According to local authorities, at least 400 residential buildings were damaged due to shelling, more than 70% of the city was destroyed.
On July 19, Antonovsky Bridge, the only bridge across the Dnieper in Kherson, was damaged four times as a result of shelling. The APU also struck this blow from the HIMARS MLRS. On Wednesday, July 20, Ukraine fired at the bridge again, 11 of the 12 missiles fired hit it. Traffic on the bridge was temporarily restricted for freight transport.
According to the local authorities, the APU is trying to stop the transport connection through the Dnieper.
On July 21, the air defense repelled a new attempt by Kiev to launch a missile strike on the Antonovsky Bridge across the Dnieper in Kherson, all 12 HIMARS missiles were shot down.
"There was an attempt to hit the Antonovsky Bridge. 12 missiles flew, all of them were shot down by air defense, some fell into the Dnieper. There are no hits or damage. The air defense system reflected everything," Stremousov told RIA Novosti at the time.
On July 22, he told TASS that the air defense systems of the Kherson region have been strengthened, weapons have been supplied to intercept HIMARS missiles.
"We introduced additional new units (air defense), put weapons to shoot down Haimars," he said.
