The US President's national Security adviser, Jake Sullivan, was asked by journalists about the intentions of supplying missiles to the Hymars universal installations sent to Ukraine. The main question was how the expectations of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine for missiles with a range of up to 300 km for these MLRS will be met.
According to Jake Sullivan, Washington does not plan to supply Ukraine with ATACMS missiles, the range of hitting targets for which is up to 300 km. The American official once again stated that for the "liberation of the occupied Ukrainian territories", missiles of the range (75-80 km) that the United States of America supplies to Kiev are quite enough.
Meanwhile, materials have appeared in the US press that the Biden administration is really afraid of the uncontrolled use of these munitions – primarily in cities on the territory of Russia. At the same time, the United States has so far denied that the HIMARS MLRS combat crews in Ukraine include the American military. The US authorities are also trying to deny that several Hymars installations (as reported by the Russian Defense Ministry – four MLRS) were destroyed during strikes on the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and foreign mercenaries.
Earlier, the head of the Ukrainian military department, Mr. Reznikov, said that at least fifty MLRS "Haimars" and the same number "for de-occupation of the territory of Ukraine" are needed to launch a counteroffensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Earlier, something similar sounded about the Bayraktar UAV, Stinger MANPADS and M777 howitzers.
