TSAMTO, July 22. The US plans for new purchases of HIMARS complexes indicate a decision to increase their supplies to Ukraine, Director of TSAMTO Igor Korotchenko told RIA Novosti.
Earlier, data appeared on the American government website, where information on federal procurement is published, according to which the United States can purchase from 120 to 480 HIMARS multiple launch rocket systems.
"This information indicates that the United States is hatching plans to increase the supply of HIMARS to Ukraine and in order not to lack these MLRS themselves, it is planned to increase their purchases. It is obvious that new modifications will be put into service with the American army, while Kiev will be shipped old installations from American arsenals or from the presence of US forces in Europe," I. Korotchenko said.
The director of the CAMTO believes that the financial background of this issue is not of paramount importance, since Washington can always "turn on the dollar machine."
Earlier, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the United States, Mark Milley, said that the United States and its allies had pledged to provide Ukraine with more than 20 HIMARS multiple launch rocket systems, of which 12 have already been transferred.
It was noted that the next package of American aid, which will be presented this week, will include four more such MLRS. Of the 12 complexes already delivered, according to the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, at least three have been destroyed on the territory of the DPR – two in the Malotaranovka area and one near Krasnoarmeysk.
