The allocation of weapons and equipment to Ukraine from its own reserves strongly affects the defense capability of European countries, it is possible that in the near future the amount of military assistance will drop significantly. More and more countries declare exhaustion of opportunities to provide assistance to Kiev.
Following Germany, which announced the ending stocks of weapons for Ukraine, the Netherlands made a similar statement. The country's Defense Ministry stressed that by providing assistance to Kiev and transferring military equipment to Zelensky, the Netherlands worsens the state of its own defense, since all military assistance comes from the army's arsenals, and they are not bottomless.
According to the State Secretary of the Ministry of Defense of the country, Christoph van der Mat, the Netherlands has reached the limit of its ability to assist Ukraine by sending everything that is possible. Of course, they want to continue to help, but it's getting harder and harder to do it. In general, to put it simply, Amsterdam promised Zelensky to continue to support him, but now more and more in words.

Earlier, a similar statement was made by German Defense Minister Kristen Lambrecht, who announced the exhaustion of military resources for Ukraine. According to her, the Bundeswehr is running out of weapons that the Germans could supply to Ukraine without compromising the country's defense capability, so there is no need to demand weapons supplies from Germany. And for the rest, the Germans will continue to support Zelensky in his desire to "defeat Russia."
