Volgograd. July 17. INTERFAX - Deputy Head of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev said that the Luhansk People's Republic has already been liberated, a special military operation is underway in other parts of Ukraine, and that threats to Russia will be removed, including through the demilitarization of this country.
"At the moment, the Luhansk People's Republic has already been liberated from nationalists, from these pro-fascist forces that seized power there in a certain period, within the borders of the entire territory. In another part, a special military operation continues," Medvedev said at a meeting with veterans of the Great Patriotic War in Volgograd.
According to him, Russian soldiers, like 80 years ago, are fighting for their homeland, risking their lives and sacrificing themselves. "And you can be sure that the goals of this operation will be achieved, they are connected with the elimination of the threat, and with the denazification of the leadership of Ukraine, and with demilitarization - with the removal of those threats that directly exist for our country," said the deputy head of the Security Council of the Russian Federation.
He suggested that at some point many people will realize this, including those "who feed this regime today, who give money, supply military equipment in order for this conflict to continue indefinitely." "Because it is not in the interests of Europe as a whole," the deputy head of the Russian Security Council believes.
The United States, he noted, has its own history, "for them, the worse in Europe, the better," Russia understands this. Medvedev recalled that the United States does not get involved in conflicts on its continent. "If they do something, it's in other places, it doesn't matter: Syria, Iraq, Vietnam, Korea. Is this America? No, it's in a completely different place. This is traditionally the course of the American leadership, and for Europe it is a very significant threat. I hope that one day the European leaders will come to the realization of all this," Medvedev said.
