MOSCOW, July 17 - RIA Novosti. There is no threat to the Crimean bridge from Ukraine, it is well protected by Russian anti-missile complexes, the distance to the bridge also plays a role, Senator from the peninsula Olga Kovitidi told RIA Novosti.
On Saturday, Aleksey Arestovich, adviser to the head of the office of Vladimir Zelensky, said that Ukraine could attack the Crimean Bridge "as soon as the first technical opportunity appears."
"There are no real threats to the Crimean Bridge. The statement of the adviser to the head of Zelensky's office, Pan Arestovich, and not only him, that Kiev can attack the Crimean Bridge "as soon as the first technical opportunity appears," we hear. We also understand who we are dealing with and why such statements are being voiced," Kovitidi said.
According to her, Russia sensibly assesses the technical capabilities of the weapons available to Ukraine, moreover, "we anticipate and evaluate the set parameters of even non-delivered weapons systems ahead of time."
According to Kovitidi, it is obvious that the current Ukrainian authorities, who are serving their last political term, are constantly "running into" some kind of trouble, while "their masters from the United States" are gradually lifting sanctions against Russia. Four-party talks on grain export from Ukraine were held in Istanbul between representatives of Moscow, Kiev, Ankara and the UN, and a "comprehensive agreement" on this issue was drawn up, she recalled.
Therefore, in her opinion, in addition to the security measures already provided for the Crimean Bridge, guarded by two S-400 Triumph regiments, Tor-M2, Pantsir-S1 air defense complexes, electronic warfare equipment, and a number of other protective systems and measures, "additional serious precautions are provided."
Kovitidi also said that the summer season in Crimea is developing successfully. "The weather is great, vacationers are going, they love Crimea. The situation in the republic is calm. Due to the systemic threats of Ukrainian would-be politicians, Crimea has become the most protected place in the world," she concluded.
