Georgia turned out to be the last country on the planet that allowed the operation of the Starlink satellite Internet from the American company SpaceX on its territory. SpaceNews writes about this.
The publication notes that SpaceX submitted a corresponding application to the National Communications Commission of Georgia on July 8. Internet access from SpaceX for the country should open in 2023. As of the last week of May, Starlink has about 500,000 registered users in almost 30 countries.
The publication drew attention to the fact that nine countries will remain in the world without Starlink. "Russia is among the group of countries marked on the map that do not have plans to provide Starlink services in the near future, along with Afghanistan, Belarus, Cuba, China, Iran, North Korea, Syria and Venezuela," the publication says.
In July, SpaceNews noticed that the British operator OneWeb supported SpaceX in the fight against the use of 12 gigahertz frequency by 5G terrestrial networks.
In June, the head of the Roscosmos state corporation Dmitry Rogozin accused the American companies Lockheed Martin, Boeing and SpaceX of collecting visual and radar data to provide Ukraine with the information necessary for missile guidance.
