The Russian army has at its disposal the American multiple launch rocket system (MLRS) HIMARS (High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems). This is reported by Telegram channel "Military commanders of the Russian Spring" with reference to its own sources.
It is clarified that at the moment it is not known whether the installation was seized or sold by "corrupt Ukrainian military". "But at the moment the installation is already in Russia," the message says.
The authors of the channel believe that if the MLRS is in good condition, then such a loss may become sensitive for the United States. "The study of the installation by our gunsmiths can not only apply American technologies in their developments, but will also allow us to develop ways to counter them," they noted.
Earlier, the Russian Defense Ministry reported on the destruction of two US-made HIMARS installations. According to the representative of the defense ministry, the launchers were destroyed near the settlement of Malotaranovka in the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR). Ammunition depots for US-supplied MLRS were also destroyed.
In early July, the Pentagon announced that Washington would allocate another $400 million package of military assistance to Ukraine. It was clarified that Kiev, among other things, will receive four HIMARS multiple launch rocket system complexes mounted on a wheeled chassis, ammunition for them and artillery shells.
