Several top managers have left Tesla - including the head of Congratulations, who is engaged in the development of autopilot. This is reported by the publication The Information.
Andrey Karpaty announced his departure from Tesla. The native of Slovakia said on Twitter that it was an honor for him to work for the company. "During the operation, our autopilot has moved from holding the lane to moving along city streets," noted Karpaty. In the comments of the former top manager, Tesla CEO Elon Musk thanked him: "Thank you for everything you have done for us! It was an honor to work with you."
Karpaty has been working in the Artificial Intelligence department at OpenAI since 2016. In June 2017, the specialist moved to Tesla, where he led the development of artificial intelligence (AI) and autopilot. Sources told The Information that in addition to Karpaty, other top managers left Tesla - senior software manager Chris Rollins and one of the executives whose name was not disclosed.
The journalists recalled that earlier there was information that Tesla was cutting staff by 10 percent. At the end of June, as part of optimization, the corporation reduced 200 engineers involved in the development of autopilot.
In mid-July, it became known that former Apple lead designer Johnny Ive had finally severed relations with the company. Ive provided consulting services after leaving Tim Cook Corporation in 2019.
