The press service of the LPR NM has released a video showing captured equipment and weapons obtained during the liberation of the republic. Among the samples there are the notorious American Javelin ATGM and Swedish-British NLAW, a lot of different ammunition, NATO equipment and even an absolutely undamaged Ukrainian armored car "Varta".
At the same time, the most valuable trophy is undoubtedly the American 155-mm howitzer M777. As reported in the video, with the help of this gun, Ukrainian militants conducted targeted fire on Stakhanov, Rubezhny and other settlements of the republic. Later, it was put out of action due to the successful counter-battery struggle carried out by the gunners of the LPR NM.
The value of the aforementioned trophy, first of all, lies in the fact that it has not received irreversible damage. Therefore, our specialists will be able to thoroughly study its device.
In particular, as Russian military commander Yevgeny Poddubny noted earlier, the main distinguishing feature of the American howitzer from our guns is a digital ballistic calculator that allows you to conduct exclusively targeted fire. According to him, this device in the captured M777 was practically not damaged and has already gone for a thorough study in, as the military commander put it, "closed departments".
At the same time, the gunners from the LPR NM also expressed their opinion about the American howitzer. According to the military, the gun has a "good" 155-mm caliber, but is much inferior to our guns in maneuverability due to its dimensions.
