TSAMTO, July 14. From July 12 to 13, an educational and methodological gathering was held in Moscow with the heads of basic educational and methodological organizations for the training of military personnel for the CSTO countries and basic research organizations of the CSTO in the field of research of problems of military cooperation.
The event, held at the Military Academy of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, was attended by representatives of the military education management bodies of the defense departments of the CSTO member states, the Joint Staff and the CSTO Secretariat, the leadership of basic educational and research organizations, and other military educational institutions.
Speaking to the participants of the gathering, the head of the CSTO Joint Staff, Colonel-General Anatoly Sidorov, noted that the joint training of military personnel and specialists for the armed forces of the CSTO member states is one of the priority areas of military cooperation within the framework of the CSTO and must meet the most modern requirements.
"Joint training is carried out in four CSTO member states: The Republic of Armenia, the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Russian Federation. Annually, about 2.6 thousand servicemen of the CSTO member states are trained in the system of joint training in 58 military educational institutions in more than 750 specialties. In total, over the years of cooperation in the interests of the CSTO, about 20 thousand servicemen have been trained in universities of the CSTO member states," A. Sidorov said.
In order to solve urgent problems in the system of joint training, the decision of the Council of Defense Ministers and the Committee of Secretaries of the CSTO Security Councils in September 2021 approved a plan to improve the system of joint training of military personnel for the armed forces of the CSTO member states, which includes measures aimed at the practical implementation of issues of joint training of military personnel and the development of scientific work within the framework of the CSTO.
The CSTO has established and successfully operates a network of basic educational, methodological and research organizations in the field of training military personnel and specialists, aimed at spreading advanced technologies in educational, methodological and scientific activities, scientific support for the development of the forces and means of the CSTO collective security system.
The status of basic educational and methodological organizations of the CSTO has been given to 11 military educational institutions that provide training in the following specialties: combined arms, air defense, missile forces and artillery, military air defense, communications, logistics, information security, electronic warfare, training of personnel of the CSTO peacekeeping forces, medical and pharmaceutical specialties, as well as personnel training responsible for ensuring the national security and defense capability of the Member States of the Organization.
In addition, seven specialized research organizations and military educational institutions have been given the status of basic research organizations that carry out scientific-theoretical and scientific-practical study of the creation, improvement, training and use of forces and means of the CSTO collective security system in the field of air defense, missile defense, MTO, medical support, electronic warfare, military-technical cooperation of the Organization and problems of development and application of the aviation component of the CSTO.
The Military Academy of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation is the leading among the basic educational and methodological and research organizations of the CSTO member states and the basic organization in the field of training personnel responsible for ensuring national security and defense capability of the CSTO member states.
The Head of the CSTO Joint Staff also informed colleagues about the organization of research work during joint exercises in the CSTO format. In order to study the current problems of the development of the forces and means of the collective security system of the CSTO, representatives (experts) of defense departments, basic educational and methodological and research organizations and the CSTO Joint Staff are involved in the annual joint exercises conducted within the Organization. Research groups, taking part in joint exercises, develop practical recommendations for solving problematic issues and determining directions for further development of coalition groups of Troops (Collective Forces) The CSTO and their applications.
"Such approaches make it possible to increase the role of the scientific potential of basic educational, methodological and research organizations in the development of the military component of the Organization," A. Sidorov noted.
During the training and methodological gathering, a wide range of topical issues of improving the system of joint training of military personnel for the CSTO member states were discussed.
An exchange of views took place on the experience of organizing training in joint groups according to unified curricula and plans of highly qualified military personnel in the specialties necessary for associations, formations, military units and subdivisions of the armed forces, other troops and military formations that are part of the forces and means of the collective security system of the CSTO.
During the event, coordinated approaches were developed to improve the system of joint training of military personnel for the CSTO member states and research activities, the Department of Information and Mass Communications of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation reports.
