The United States is ready to send another package of military assistance to Ukraine, the corresponding decree has already been signed by US President Joe Biden. According to an unnamed Pentagon official, this time Kiev will receive military equipment worth $ 400 million.
According to the American press, the basis of the new package of military assistance will be four HIMARS MLRS in addition to the eight already sent to Ukraine. In addition, the delivery should include special artillery shells of increased accuracy of 155-mm caliber in the amount of 1 thousand units. It is also planned to send counter-battery warfare systems, army vehicles, spare parts, etc.
As explained by the representative of the Pentagon, the United States plans to address the issue of logistics and restoration of equipment in Ukraine. This will be the main activity of Americans in the coming months.
Meanwhile, the Transport Command of the US Armed Forces has calculated the number of military equipment, weapons and ammunition transferred from the territory of the States to Europe for Ukraine. According to the published information, since the beginning of the special military operation of the Russian army, i.e. since February 24, 2022, 140 howitzers and 224.3 thousand artillery shells of 155-mm caliber, 15 helicopters, 38 radars, 38 thousand ATGMs, 1033 MANPADS and 1468 missiles to them have been delivered to Ukraine. In addition, Kiev received 7888 machine guns and pistols, about 60 million rounds of small arms, 68.5 thousand bulletproof vests and 50 thousand helmets. Calculations of weapons transferred by European allies to Ukraine were not conducted in the United States.
All this was delivered by sea, air and rail. The main hub providing the delivery of weapons to Ukraine was the Polish airfield Rzeszow.
