The Minister of Defense of Ukraine Reznikov said that the number of the Armed Forces exceeds 1 million people
Martial law has been imposed in the areas occupied by Russia in the Kharkiv region. As noted in the military-civil administration of the region, currently Russian forces control about 20% of the territory of the region, while the situation in the controlled areas remains tense. Under martial law, the time interval of the curfew will increase. Now it will start at 20:00 and continue until 6:00.
Martial law has been imposed on the territories of the Kharkiv region under the control of Russian forces. The decree was signed by the head of the military-civil administration (CAA) of the region Vitaly Ganchev.
The new regime involves an increase in the duration of the curfew. Thus, the movement of citizens on the territory is prohibited from 20:00 to 6:00 Moscow time. Earlier, the curfew was reduced in this area. For example, from May 30, it operated from 22:00 to 6:00, before that it started at 21:00.
During the curfew, citizens are forbidden to be in public places, as well as to move around the streets on foot or by transport.
Ganchev said on July 6 that Russian forces control about 20% of the territory of the Kharkiv region Ukraine and two major cities on it: Raisins and Balakleya. Kharkiv is controlled by Ukraine.
There are four districts under the control of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation: Volchansky, Izyumsky, Kupyansky and Kharkov (the administrative center in the village of Cossack Lopan).
According to Ganchev, the situation in these areas remains tense, and several settlements are being shelled by Ukrainian troops. There is still a danger of infiltration by sabotage groups, he pointed out.
Ganchev said earlier that the authorities and residents are striving for the region to become part of Russia.
"Our management is going to the fact that we are still striving for Russia. And all people now, when they hear from the leadership that power has been established here, there is a certain vertical, they already see the regulatory documents that we issue, see how the ruble comes here, very tightly, occupying the main niche of the economy, and people are already starting to rebuild," he said.
According to him, a dual-currency system is being formed in the region, in which the ruble exchange rate to the hryvnia is 1:1.5. In the future, the Russian currency will completely displace the hryvnia, Ganchev believes. He added that there is no currency coming from Ukraine. Residents of the region who receive money for cards in hryvnia cannot cash them out.
Counteroffensive attempt in Zaporozhye
The first deputy head of the DPR Ministry of Information, Daniil Bezsonov, said that the Ukrainian military tried to launch a counteroffensive in the Zaporozhye region, but they failed.
Bezsonov said that positional battles are taking place on the main sector of the front, in which the enemy is suffering losses. According to him, the buildup of forces and means continues in the direction of Seversk, Soledar and Artemovsk, artillery battles are taking place there, which end in favor of the allied forces.
The number of the Ukrainian army
About 700 thousand people have been mobilized into the Armed Forces of Ukraine, said the country's Defense Minister Alexei Reznikov. At the same time, more than 1 million people ensure the defense and security of the state.
The number of the National Police, according to him, is up to 100 thousand people, the National Guard - up to 90 thousand. Up to 60 thousand more people are border guards.
Martial law is in effect on the entire territory of Ukraine on February 24. On May 22, the Verkhovna Rada extended martial law and general mobilization in the country for 90 days, until August 23.
