TSAMTO, July 8. Russian President Vladimir Putin supported the proposal of the Russian government to sign an agreement with Kyrgyzstan on the creation of a Joint Regional Air Defense System (ORS) of the two states.
The corresponding order was published on July 8 on the legal information portal.
According to the document, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation was instructed, together with the Russian Foreign Ministry, to hold talks with Kyrgyzstan and, upon reaching an agreement, sign an agreement on behalf of the Russian Federation, allowing changes to be made to its draft that are not of a fundamental nature.
As Interfax reminds, earlier in July, the Russian government approved a draft agreement between the two countries on the creation of an air defense missile defense system, agreed with the Russian Foreign Ministry and other interested federal executive authorities and previously worked out with Kyrgyzstan.
As stated in the draft agreement, in order to improve air defense in the region, the parties are creating an air defense system of Russia and Kyrgyzstan, which is an integral part of the combined air defense system of the CIS countries.
The list of troops (forces) allocated to the Joint Regional Air Defense System of the Russian Federation and Kyrgyzstan is approved jointly by the authorized bodies of the parties.
For the deployment of troops (forces) allocated by the Russian Federation to the Air defense Forces in the collective security area, Kyrgyzstan transfers to Russia, for the period of this agreement, a land plot of 5 hectares free of charge, Interfax quotes the draft agreement.
