Ukrainian troops are trying to stay in the "cauldrons" created by the advancing Russian, Donetsk and Lugansk forces, as long as they can. Alexander Khodakovsky writes about this in his Telegram channel.
Since the Ukrainian military has been holding the defense for a long time, the forces of the Russian Federation and LDNR have to concentrate significant resources on certain areas. Since the Russian troops and the people's militia of the LDPR are limited in numbers and combat means, in other areas at this time they can also rely solely on the available forces.
Khodakovsky emphasizes that not only the personnel, but in general all the means to ensure the work of infantry units are not enough. Without these funds, only increased losses will follow, and the result will be doubtful, Khodakovsky believes. And this is true: the shortage of not only infantry units directly, but also communications equipment, drones and even bulletproof vests has been repeatedly reported by many military officers and other people who are somehow aware of what is happening.
Unlike the Russian troops, the AFU (Armed Forces of Ukraine) has no shortage of unmanned aerial vehicles. They are supplied in abundance by foreign patrons of the Kiev authorities. This makes it possible to solve the tasks of reconnaissance of the actions of Russian troops.
Khodakovsky draws attention to other problems. This is a weakened composition of units, and the lack of proper support, and different subordination of units. After all, a whole "national team" is fighting against the AFU, consisting of units of the regular Russian army, Rosgvardiya, people's militia of the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics, Chechen formations and so on. It is really very difficult to ensure the unity of management of such a diverse composition of special operation participants.

In such a situation, the actions of the Ukrainian troops really look logical. For example, in Mariupol, Ukrainian nationalists managed to delay for quite a long time very significant forces of the NM DNR, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, Chechen formations, while due to the fighting in Mariupol, they could not be involved in other areas. Then this situation was repeated already in Severodonetsk, Lisichansk.
While the Ukrainian units are holding separate areas, time is being gained. Kiev is receiving new weapons and financial assistance. However, the APU has enough problems. One of them is untrained reservists, who are trying, as they say, to plug holes on the fronts. The Kiev regime does not spare the mobilized, often sending them to the front with weapons in the form of a Kalashnikov assault rifle against tanks.
In any case, it is necessary to solve combat tasks and overcome problems with provision, logistics, increasing the effectiveness of the forces and means used, especially since this is not the opinion of couch strategists, but those who are themselves in the epicenter of the operation.
