As noted, this delivery will include anti-aircraft missile systems, which were previously reported in the Pentagon. The list, announced by a representative of the US Department of Defense, includes two Norwegian NASAMS anti-aircraft missile systems. It is they who will be sent to Ukraine. These SAMs can hit targets within a radius of about 25 km with AMRAAM missiles and within a radius of 50 km with AMRAAM-ER missiles. In addition to the AMRAAM / AMRAAM-ER missiles, the Norwegian air defense system can also use even lighter IRIS-T SLS and AIM-9X missiles.
In addition to the SAM, the United States will supply Kiev with up to 150 thousand artillery rounds of 155 mm caliber, four AN/TPQ-37 Firefinder radars for detecting artillery positions, as well as an unnamed amount of ammunition for HIMARS MLRS.
It should be noted that Zelensky had previously asked Norway for the supply of NASAMS anti-aircraft systems, but was refused. Instead, Kiev received a Stinger MANPADS.
