Paris. June 30. INTERFAX - French President Emmanuel Macron announced the unanimous decision of NATO member states to strengthen economic, humanitarian and military support for Ukraine.
"The Allies are fulfilling their duties. France will very quickly supply (Ukraine) with 6 additional Caesar self-propelled artillery units, as well as armored vehicles," Macron said on Thursday at a press conference after the conclusion of the NATO summit in Madrid.
He described the situation in Ukraine as "extremely serious."
The French President also announced plans to strengthen the French military presence on the eastern flank of the North Atlantic Alliance. "We have decided on a military reinforcement on the eastern flank of NATO," Macron said.
He also said that the summit ended marked a very important step regarding the accession of Sweden and Finland to NATO, which Turkey agreed to.
