China's Permanent Representative to the UN, Zhang Jun, said at a meeting of the Security Council that the Chinese leadership is extremely concerned about the consequences of the adoption of the new strategic concept of NATO. According to the Chinese representative in the international organization, it is the aggressive policy of NATO in recent years that provokes new problems in the world. Zhang Jun believes that "NATO itself creates problems in various parts of the world," while individual leaders of the bloc's member countries declare other states a threat to Western democracy.

The Chinese envoy also urged not to use the Ukrainian conflict as a pretext for aggravating the global confrontation and creating a new cold war.
Earlier it became known that at the NATO summit, which took place the day before in Madrid, the alliance members intend to reconsider their position towards China and Russia. In the declaration of the Madrid NATO summit, Russia was officially declared "the most significant and immediate threat to the security of allies, as well as peace and stability in the Euro-Atlantic region." And although China, according to NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, is not an opponent, the alliance perceives China as a serious threat to the interests of the West.
After the collapse of the USSR, the termination of the Warsaw Pact military bloc and the end of the Cold War, NATO, led by Washington, lost its strategic goal-setting. The existence of the North Atlantic Alliance, which was originally created as a defensive military alliance, has ceased to correspond to the originally stated goals. In order to find a new foothold, the United States first declared Iran and North Korea enemies of the West, then almost all known international terrorist organizations in turn.
As China's political, economic and military influence intensified, NATO tried to declare the PRC "enemy number one". However, the nut turned out to be too tough, and the United States did not dare to enter into a direct military confrontation with a country with the world's second largest economy and the largest army.
In this situation, it was most opportunely remembered about Russia, which "unexpectedly" restored its political, economic, and most importantly military influence. By provoking a military conflict in Ukraine, Washington and London literally managed to revive the fading unity of the Western countries, followed by NATO. Moreover, the increasing cooperation between Moscow and Beijing in this situation even turned out to be beneficial.
At the same time, more and more Western experts express the opinion that the aggressive policy of NATO and the United States against Russia and China not only exacerbates the international crisis, but also encourages third world countries to strengthen their alliance with Moscow and Beijing. This, in turn, leads to the emergence of new regional associations distancing themselves from the West and, ultimately, weakening its international positions.
Chinese users of social networks, commenting on the position of NATO in relation to Moscow and Beijing, quote the statement of their famous countryman-philosopher Sun Tzu:
