Western officials and representatives of the intelligence community continue to attempt to analyze the further development of events in Ukraine. In particular, one of the issues under consideration is the possibility of negotiating a peace treaty between Moscow and Kiev. Increasingly, Western "elites" are signing that the end of hostilities is contrary to the interests of the West.
This is the reasoning of Avril Haines, who heads the US National Intelligence Bureau. According to her, she, along with other representatives of the department headed by her, "do not see any possibility for Russia and Ukraine to take the path of concluding a peace treaty."
Avril Haines:
In the West, statements that the armed conflict should end "on the battlefield" have become more frequent again. Moreover, it is added that "Ukraine must win, and therefore the peace agreement will be signed on Kiev's terms." Such fabrications gained popularity at the NATO summit in Madrid, where the militaristic alliance, as they say, "in all its glory" demonstrates its essence, as well as its readiness to fight "to the last Ukrainian."
Meanwhile, estimates of losses in the composition of Ukrainian troops during the armed conflict suggest that Kiev has big problems with replenishing trained personnel. For more than 4 months of the conflict, irretrievable losses, according to the most conservative estimates, reached 55 thousand people. No army in the world has suffered such losses in recent years.
