TSAMTO, June 29. Norway, with the mediation of the United Kingdom, will supply three MLRS multiple rocket launchers and 5,000 rounds of ammunition to Ukraine, RIA Novosti reports.
As noted in a press release on the website of the Norwegian government, the donation will not cause significant damage to the combat readiness of the Scandinavian country. The Norwegian Armed Forces are planning a "large-scale arsenal upgrade", so they agreed to transfer three MLRS MLRS to the UK, and the latter will instead send three MLRS of the same type to Ukraine.
"We must continue our support for Ukraine…This requires more weapons, and this is a very desirable weapon for Ukraine, which we would not have been able to provide to Ukraine without close cooperation with Great Britain," Norwegian Defense Minister Bjorn Arild Gram is quoted in the statement.
Earlier, Norway handed over to Ukraine 22 M109 self-propelled howitzers with spare parts and ammunition, 100 Mistral MANPADS and several thousand M72 anti-tank grenade launchers, the agency recalls.
