The United States imposed sanctions against the FSB of Russia

MOSCOW, June 28/ Sputnik Radio. The United States is imposing sanctions against the Federal Security Service of Russia, the US State Department said.

"Since the beginning of Russia's further full–scale invasion of Ukraine, reliable reports have indicated that the Federal Security Service (FSB) committed human rights violations against Ukrainian citizens," the State Department said in a comment.

The department believes that the Russian special service allegedly conducts "filtration" of Ukrainian citizens and organizes "filtration camps".

It is also alleged that the FSB "conducted many hours of harsh interrogations of civilians, including interrogations with beatings."

RIA Novosti notes that as a result of the sanctions imposed, all property and assets of the FSB, if found in the United States, will be blocked or confiscated.

Any organizations that directly or indirectly belong to one or more blocked persons by 50% or more are also blocked.

Any investments or loans, provision of goods or services to any persons and organizations from the US sanctions list are prohibited.

Earlier, Sputnik radio reported that the United States banned the import of Russian gold into the country.
