China is not planning a large-scale military operation in Taiwan, in the event of the outbreak of hostilities, the bet will be placed on targeted strikes that can deprive the population of resistance. This is written by the Japanese publication Shukan Gendai.

Beijing is carefully studying the actions of the Russian army in Ukraine and monitoring its progress, planning its actions in Taiwan. However, unlike the Russians, the Chinese will try to avoid a large-scale military campaign, betting on the elimination of the top of the Taiwanese government, as well as key individuals capable of giving orders. It is also planned to neutralize various leaders who oppose the unification of China.

According to the Japanese edition, China intends to rely on a "special operation" instead of a "war", within which to solve all its tasks without translating all this into a protracted conflict, as happened with Russia in Ukraine, where a "war of attrition" began.

The decision on the war against Taiwan must be made quickly to avoid its prolongation and translation into a "war of attrition". To do this, first of all, an operation should be carried out to decapitate the Taiwanese leadership and destroy every one of the stubbornly resisting "elements defending the independence of the island"

- the Chinese edition of Global Times already writes.

Beijing believes that by not eliminating the top of the Ukrainian nationalist government led by Zelensky, Russia made a mistake that led to increased resistance and protracted fighting against the backdrop of an economic blockade by the West. Despite the fact that the Russian army has achieved some success, it is difficult for it.

Thus, having studied the experience of the Russian special operation in Ukraine, China is planning a possible special operation in Taiwan without large-scale hostilities, the Japanese edition sums up.
