The Aerospace Forces of the Russian Federation destroyed 49 tanks with fuel for equipment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). This was announced on Thursday, June 23, by the official representative of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, Lieutenant General Igor Konashenkov.
"On June 22, 49 tanks with fuel for military equipment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as well as up to 50 multiple launch rocket systems placed in hangars of combat vehicles, including foreign—made, were destroyed by high-precision weapons of the Russian Aerospace Forces in the Nikolaev area," he said.
In addition, the Russian Aerospace Forces also hit three armored vehicle repair bases in the Nikolaev area, four control points, manpower and military equipment in 18 districts.
A day earlier, the Russian Aerospace Forces destroyed up to 500 military personnel of the 59th Ukrainian brigade with equipment in the workshops of the Nikolaev shipbuilding plant "Ocean".
On June 10, it became known that the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation completely liberated the area of the Kinburnskaya Spit near Nikolaev. Before that, on June 8, the deputy of the Verkhovna Rada Roman Kostenko admitted that at the moment the military of the Armed Forces of Ukraine are suffering huge losses in the Mykolaiv region.
On February 24, Russia launched a special operation to protect Donbass. Moscow explained that the tasks of the special operation include the demilitarization and denazification of Ukraine, the implementation of which is necessary to ensure the security of Russia. The decision was made against the background of aggravation in the region as a result of shelling by the Ukrainian military.
