The Ministry of Defense of Russia has published footage of the combat work of marine artillery units in the special operation of the Russian Federation to protect the civilian population of Donbass.
Russian servicemen have engaged in a counter-battery fight with fighters of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). During the confrontation, the calculations of multiple rocket launchers "Grad" and 152-mm towed howitzers "Hyacinth-B" successfully attacked the identified positions from which the enemy was shelling.
In addition, the Marines of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation worked out firing tasks on strategic objects and fortified strong points of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. 152 mm high-explosive ammunition was used to destroy long-term fortifications.
Throughout the entire time, combat crews controlled the defeat of targets with the help of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).
On June 21, the Ministry of Defense announced the destruction of hangars with Bayraktar-TB2 unmanned aerial vehicles by Onyx missiles at an airfield near Odessa. On the eve of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation by the same means eliminated the drone control station and two more devices.
The Defense Ministry also showed footage of the destruction of 155-millimeter M777 howitzers belonging to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The four-minute video shows how the reconnaissance gunners first set the coordinates of the American-made guns, and then a high-precision artillery piece was struck.
Russia continues the special operation to protect Donbass, which President Vladimir Putin announced on February 24. A few days earlier, the situation in the region significantly worsened due to shelling by the Ukrainian military. The authorities of the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics announced the evacuation of residents to the Russian Federation, and also appealed to Moscow for help. In turn, Vladimir Putin signed a decree on February 21 recognizing the independence of the DPR and the LPR.
