An explosion at an ammunition depot in the Vladimir region caused the death of four people
Four people were killed in a military unit in the Vladimir region. During unloading, a shell exploded in the arsenal. According to the Western Military District, the dead are three servicemen - men and a woman -head of the warehouse. Five more soldiers were injured, one was hospitalized with fractures and burns. The military prosecutor's office and the FSB went to the place.
During loading and unloading operations on the territory of the ammunition storage in the village of Barsovo, Vladimir region, a shell exploded. This is reported by the press service of the Western Military District (ZVO).
"The fire that occurred in the storage has been extinguished. The spillage of the storage area has been organized. There is no threat to other objects and nearby settlements," the report says. The detonation of the ammunition, according to RIA Novosti, was involuntary.
The Telegram channel SHOT reports that before the explosion, unusable shells were taken out of the boxes to take them away for disposal. In total, ten conscripts and one officer were involved in this work.
A list of those killed and injured in the explosion has also been published. Conscript soldiers Nikita Chernyshov, Denis Kuznetsov and Maxim Kraev were killed. The name of the deceased woman is Raisa Sadokhina. It is reported that five soldiers were also injured. One of them was hospitalized with fractures and burns, his name is Savely Volodazhsky.
The emergency department of the Kirzhach district hospital reported that the wounded man is in intensive care, in a moderate condition.
The fire on the territory of the military unit has already been extinguished, there is no need to evacuate people from nearby settlements, TASS reports. Now firefighters are carrying out a spill of the territory.
Fire near Belgorod
At the end of April, a fire and explosion occurred in the Belgorod region at an ammunition depot near the village of Staraya Nelidovka. This was announced by the governor of the Belgorod region Vyacheslav Gladkov in his Telegram channel.
According to him, there are no victims.
A bright flash was visible on the video from the scene.
He added that as a result of the incident, none of the civilians were injured, residential buildings and houses were also not damaged. Explosions were heard near the village and at a distance of 10 km from it.
Explosions in Kazakhstan
In August 2021, 15 people were killed in explosions at an ammunition depot in Kazakhstan, the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the republic reported.
"The sappers of the Ministry of Defense found the body of another person, whose identity is being established. The death toll in the explosion in Zhambyl region has reached fifteen people. Among the dead there are also employees of civil protection bodies," the message says.
Engineering ammunition caught fire in the warehouses of the military unit. There were at least 10 explosions. About 100 people, including employees of the local emergency department, were taken to medical institutions. It was possible to eliminate the fires only two days later.
