The aerospace forces of the Russian Federation destroyed up to 500 military personnel of the 59th Ukrainian brigade with equipment in the workshops of the Nikolaev shipbuilding plant "Ocean". This was announced on Wednesday, June 22, by the official representative of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, Lieutenant General Igor Konashenkov.
"On June 21, as a result of a strike with high-precision weapons of the Russian Aerospace Forces, up to 500 servicemen of the 59th Mechanized Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (Armed Forces of Ukraine. — Ed.) with weapons and military equipment, located in the workshops of the Nikolaev shipbuilding plant "Ocean", — he said.
In addition, the servicemen of the battalion of the 57th Ukrainian Motorized Infantry Brigade lost more than 60% of their personnel, after which they refused to comply with the command order and voluntarily left their positions, Konashenkov noted.
On June 10, it became known that the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation completely liberated the area of the Kinburnskaya Spit near Nikolaev.
Before that, on June 8, the deputy of the Verkhovna Rada Roman Kostenko admitted that at the moment the military of the Armed Forces of Ukraine are suffering huge losses in the Mykolaiv region.
On May 30, rocket troops and artillery also struck the hangar of the Okean shipyard, destroying the APU armored vehicles. Thus, the Russian Armed Forces destroyed more than 15 Ukrainian tanks and infantry fighting vehicles and five large-caliber artillery pieces.
On February 24, Russia launched a special operation to protect Donbass. Moscow explained that the tasks of the special operation include the demilitarization and denazification of Ukraine, the implementation of which is necessary to ensure the security of Russia. The decision was made against the background of aggravation in the region as a result of shelling by the Ukrainian military.
