Moscow. June 19. INTERFAX-AVN - The Russian military announced a strike with Kalibr naval missiles at a factory in Nikolaev, where howitzers and armored vehicles supplied by Western countries were located.
"Ten 155-mm M777 howitzers and up to 20 armored combat vehicles delivered by the West to the Kiev regime over the past 10 days were destroyed by high-precision long-range Kalibr missiles on the territory of the transformer plant in the city of Nikolaev," Igor Konashenkov, an official representative of the Russian Defense Ministry, said on Sunday.
On February 21, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree recognizing the independence of the DPR and the LPR. On February 24, he announced the start of a special military operation in Ukraine.
The West responded to Russia with large-scale sanctions and began to help Ukraine with finances and weapons.
On April 25, the head of the National Defense Control Center of the Russian Federation, Mikhail Mizintsev, said that Russian troops had taken control of the entire Kherson region, parts of the Kharkiv, Zaporozhye, Mykolaiv regions of Ukraine, a significant part of the territory of the DPR and LPR recognized by Russia.
