YEREVAN, June 17 - RIA Novosti. Eastern Europe is perceived by the North Atlantic Alliance as the most likely theater of military operations, which is confirmed by NATO exercises. This was stated by the Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Nikolai Patrushev at a meeting with colleagues in the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), which is taking place in Yerevan on Friday.
"It is obvious that NATO considers the Eastern European region as the most likely theater of military operations," he noted. The Secretary of the Russian Security Council explained that this is evidenced by the military exercises "Defender of Europe - 2022" held in May in 19 European states, in which about 18 thousand people took part.
