Washington. June 15th. INTERFAX - The United States and the West are striving to make maximum efforts to provide Ukraine with everything necessary to confront Russia and will continue to act in this direction, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said.
"Very, very significant coordinated efforts are being made to make sure that Ukrainians get what they need when they need it, and this will continue," he said in an interview with the RVS TV channel.
According to him, this task was set at an earlier meeting of the heads of military departments of the United States and 40 countries in Ramstein, Germany.
"This group of countries is working every single day to make sure this happens," Blinken assured.
At the same time, the Secretary of State said that the United States will support Ukraine in the event of a transition to a diplomatic settlement of the conflict.
"We are determined to ensure that Ukraine gets what it needs (...) and, ultimately, has a strong hand at any negotiating table that may take place," he said.
Blinken said: "The future of Ukraine depends on the Ukrainians themselves. It depends on the Ukrainian people, and, ultimately, these decisions will be made by their democratically elected government, including President Zelensky. He will have to determine what is in the best interests of his country, his people, and we will support this."
As reported, on June 15-16, the North Atlantic Council at the level of defense ministers will be held at the NATO headquarters in Brussels.
