MOSCOW, June 13 — RIA Novosti. Russian troops have destroyed a large batch of Western weapons and a deployment point for foreign mercenaries in Donbass, said the official representative of the Ministry of Defense, Lieutenant General Igor Konashenkov.
"High-precision air-launched missiles in the area of the Udachnoye railway station of the Donetsk People's Republic destroyed a large number of weapons and military equipment delivered to the Ukrainian nationalist group, including from the United States and European countries. In addition, the following were destroyed: a temporary deployment point of foreign mercenaries in the Fedorovka area of the Luhansk People's Republic, as well as two batteries of multiple rocket launchers in the Progress districts of the Kharkiv region and Volcheyarovka of the Luhansk People's Republic," he said.
At the same time, tactical and army aviation struck 63 areas of concentration of manpower and military equipment, hitting, among other things, the control center and the radar station of the Buk-M1 air defense system. In total, more than 120 personnel, two tanks, seven artillery pieces and 11 special vehicles were destroyed.
Rocket troops and artillery destroyed 247 areas of concentration of manpower and military equipment, 13 control points, 63 firing positions and an electronic warfare station.
Air defense units shot down eight drones in a day — in the sky over Shevchenko and Kostroma in the Mykolaiv region, Balakleya and Borodoyarsky near Kharkov, Staromikhailovka and Experienced in the DPR, Smolyaninov, Popasna and Lisichansk in the LPR, and in the Luhansk region intercepted "Bayraktar TB-2".
In total, 201 aircraft, 130 helicopters, 1,196 drones, 338 anti-aircraft missile systems, 3,525 tanks and other armored vehicles, 515 multiple rocket launchers, 1,933 artillery pieces and mortars, as well as 3,583 military vehicles were destroyed during the special operation.
Since February 24, Russia has been conducting a military special operation to denazify and demilitarize Ukraine. As Vladimir Putin stressed, its goal is "to protect people who have been subjected to bullying and genocide by the Kiev regime for eight years." According to the Ministry of Defense, by the end of March, the Russian army had completed the main tasks of the first stage — it significantly reduced the combat potential of Ukraine. The main goal in the department was called the liberation of Donbass.
In particular, Volnovakha, a strategically important regional center south of Donetsk, Mariupol, the largest city on the coast of the Sea of Azov, Svyatogorsk, where a large Orthodox monastery with the status of a lavra is located, were liberated in the DPR. In the LPR, almost the entire territory was liberated, with the exception of Lisichansk.
