MOSCOW, June 8 — RIA Novosti. Ukrainian troops are suffering heavy human losses in the Donbas, Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov said at a daily briefing.
He specified that the Ukrainian Armed Forces also lost six tanks, 15 armored combat vehicles, 36 field artillery and mortars, four installations of the Grad multiple rocket launcher system and more than 20 units of automotive equipment.
On the eve of the President of Ukraine, Vladimir Zelensky, at a videoconference organized by the British newspaper Financial Times, admitted that the Armed Forces of Ukraine are inferior to the Russian army in terms of equipment, therefore they are not able to attack.
In addition, on June 1, Zelensky, in an interview with the Newsmax TV channel, said that Ukrainian troops lose 60-100 people killed and 500 wounded in battles every day.
Since February 24, Russia has been conducting a special military operation to demilitarize and denazify Ukraine. Vladimir Putin called its goal "the protection of people who have been subjected to bullying and genocide by the Kiev regime for eight years."
According to the Ministry of Defense, the army strikes only at the military infrastructure and Ukrainian troops and has already fulfilled the main task of the first stage — significantly reduced the combat potential of Ukraine. The main goal of the operation in the Russian defense Ministry called the liberation of Donbass.
