Military expert Viktor Litovkin on Tuesday, June 7, in an interview with Izvestia, commented on the statement of the head of the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) Denis Pushilin that the city of Svyatogorsk was almost completely taken under control.
"This is a continuation of the flight of Ukrainian troops, this is a continuation of the agony of nationalist units. This is a continuation of the shameful fact that commanders abandon their troops without support, fire interaction, without task allocation," the specialist stressed.
According to Litovkin, Svyatogorsk represents the success of the Russian army, which "liberates one city in the Donbass every day, which has already become the norm."
Speaking about the strategic importance of the city, the military expert noted that it is part of the territorial system, therefore it has a certain significance. However, according to Litovkin, "we need to go further and further."
A day earlier, Pushilin said that Svyatogorsk was almost completely under control.
On the same day, the official representative of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, Major General Igor Konashenkov, announced that the Armed Forces of Russia were completing the liberation of the city of Svyatogorsk in the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR).
On June 6, the Russian Defense Ministry showed the combat work of calculations of multiple rocket launchers (MLRS) "Grad" when performing fire tasks to destroy the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) during a special operation to protect Donbass.
On February 24, Russia launched a special operation to protect Donbass. Moscow explained that the tasks of the special operation include the demilitarization and denazification of Ukraine, the implementation of which is necessary to ensure the security of Russia. The decision was made against the background of aggravation in the region as a result of shelling by the Ukrainian military.
