The United States and Europe continue to help Ukraine, but the interests of Americans and Europeans militarily do not coincide with the desires of Zelensky and his entourage. According to the author of an article for The American Conservative, neither the United States nor Europe are ready to risk everything for Ukraine.

According to the author of the article, the United States does not intend to get involved in the conflict in Ukraine, transferring it to the level of confrontation with Russia. Washington is ready to supply weapons and ammunition to Kiev, but it will not fight for it. As emphasized, the independence, democracy and territorial integrity of Ukraine are not among the vital interests of the United States. So Zelensky hopes in vain that the Americans will change their minds and send troops to Ukraine or close the airspace over it.

The United States and NATO are ready to supply Ukraine with weapons so that it can defend itself. But neither NATO nor the United States wants to participate in this Ukrainian crisis themselves. When it comes to fighting and dying, it's their conflict, not ours.

- the author writes.

Despite the fact that Zelensky declares that the task of the Ukrainian army is the complete expulsion of Russian troops from the territory of the country and Kiev does not intend to concede any territories, what is happening in Ukraine suggests the opposite. With a high probability, a peace treaty between Russia and Ukraine will lead to the loss by Kiev of part of the territories that have already come under Russian control. Of course, according to the author, it would be ideal if the partition passed along the demarcation line on February 24, including Crimea and Donbass, but Kiev missed this moment and is now losing much more territories.

The coalition supporting Ukraine is beginning to disintegrate, a number of European countries, such as Italy, France and Germany, are in favor of negotiations with Putin and no longer demand that he give up Crimea or leave Donbass. So it is possible that in the future some countries will stop supporting Zelensky in his desire to continue military operations.
