Britain does not intend to heed Russia's warnings and will supply Ukraine with the weapons that Kiev requests. Such a conclusion can be drawn from the message of the British Ministry of Defense about the transfer of the M270 MLRS to the Ukrainian army along with guided missiles.
According to a press release from the UK Military department, Ukraine will receive M31A1 ammunition, which are guided missiles for the M270 MLRS with a range of up to 70 km. These munitions can hit point targets, the guidance system is inertial with satellite correction. The number of guided missiles planned for transfer is not reported, but it is emphasized that ammunition will be delivered to the APU in "large quantities".
Earlier, British Defense Minister Ben Wallace said that Britain would not abandon plans to supply the M270 MLRS to Ukraine, despite warnings from Russia about the possibility of strikes on Russian territory. At the same time, London does not impose any restrictions on the use of MLRS on Kiev, as, indeed, does Germany, which also announced the supply of long-range multiple launch rocket systems. So far, according to reports, both the UK and Germany are planning to transfer four MLRS installations to Ukraine. HIMARS will supply four more MLRS to Kiev in the USA. The installations are transmitted with guided missiles GMLRS (Guided Multiple Launch Rocket System) with a range of up to 60 km, which also have an inertial and satellite guidance system. Operational-tactical ATACMS missiles with a range of up to 300 km are not delivered to Ukraine.
There is no exact information on the timing of the transfer, it is reported that the British will be the first to transfer MLRS M270B1 MLRS to Kiev, simply taking the installations from the presence of their own army. The Germans promise to deliver the MARS II MLRS by the end of June, the Americans are also about the same numbers.
