Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on June 3 that the Russian Armed Forces are using the experience gained during the special operation to protect Donbass for further military operations.
Thus, he commented on the possible repetition of the tactics of the Russian military at the Azovstal plant in Mariupol at the enterprise in Severodonetsk.
"It is better to ask the Ministry of Defense the question of tactics and even strategy. But, of course, every day of conducting a special military operation adds a new experience. And, of course, this experience is being used during the continuation of this operation," Peskov said at a briefing.
The press secretary of the Russian leader refused to comment on the words of the head of Chechnya Ramzan Kadyrov that the special operation has accelerated. However, Peskov noted that the operation has achieved certain results and will continue until all goals are fulfilled.
"Certain results have been achieved: many settlements have been liberated from the pro-Nazi Armed Forces of Ukraine, as well as directly from nationalist elements, and people have been given the opportunity to start establishing a peaceful life. This work will continue until all the goals of the special military operation are achieved," he said.
Earlier in the day, the commander of the Pyatnashka volunteer battalion, Ahra Avidzba, said that the Avdiivka coke plant could become a new Azovstal. He stressed that the Ukrainian militants will be given time to leave the territory of the plant and surrender, and after the time runs out, they will not be waited for.
On June 1, it became known that the forces of the Luhansk People's Republic (LNR) and Russia control over 70% of the territory of Severodonetsk, taking the city under full control is expected in the near future. A day earlier, the LNR ambassador to Russia Rodion Miroshnik reported that a container with chemicals was blown up at the Azot chemical plant controlled by the armed forces of Ukraine in Severodonetsk. There, presumably, was nitric acid.
As military expert Vladislav Shurygin explained to Izvestia on May 30, the establishment of control over Severodonetsk will complete the liberation of the entire territory of the LPR from Ukrainian radicals and will allow the Russian Armed Forces to develop a further offensive on Slavyansk and Kramatorsk.
On May 20, the last Azov militants who were hiding at the Azovstal plant surrendered to Russian troops. Since May 16, during the Russian special operation, a total of 2,439 Azov militants and servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, blocked on the territory of the plant, have surrendered.
Russia continues the special operation to protect Donbass, which Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on February 24. The key goals of the Russian military are denazification and demilitarization of the Kiev regime. This is necessary to ensure the security of the Russian state and people, the Kremlin said.
