TSAMTO, June 2. On June 1, US President Joe Biden announced new military supplies to Ukraine in the amount of $ 700 million, RIA Novosti reports.
According to Deputy assistant to the head of the Pentagon Todd Brissill, the new package of US military assistance to Ukraine includes multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS), radar warfare, tactical vehicles and ammunition.
According to a statement issued by a representative of the US Department of Defense, this assistance package, among other things, includes highly mobile artillery rocket systems and ammunition for them, 5 counter-battery radars, 2 air surveillance radars, 1 thousand Javelin ATGM and 50 launchers, 6 thousand units of anti-tank weapons.
This assistance package also includes 15,000 155-mm artillery shells, four Mi-17 helicopters, 15 tactical vehicles, spare parts and equipment. In total, the military aid supplied to Kiev under this tranche is estimated at $700 million.
In general, as T. Brissil stated, the United States has provided $ 7.3 billion in defense assistance to Ukraine since 2014, and about $ 4.6 billion since the beginning of the Russian special military operation on February 24, 2022.
In May, the US Senate approved a new package of aid to Ukraine for a record $40 billion.
