TSAMTO, June 1. On June 1, the Slovak government approved military assistance to Ukraine in the amount of 21.6 million euros. This, as RIA Novosti reports, was reported by the online publication Teraz with reference to the press service of the Cabinet of Ministers.
"Slovakia will transfer military equipment to Ukraine in the amount of 21.6 million euros. The Cabinet approved the decision on this at its meeting on June 1," the message reads.
In turn, the head of the Ministry of Defense Yaroslav Nagy, according to the publication, refused to specify what kind of military equipment will be sent to Kiev.
"We have agreed within the framework of NATO that we will not give Moscow a list of materials supplied to Ukraine. But this is exactly what Ukraine needs," I said.Nagy, having clarified that all equipment is supplied from the warehouses of the Slovak army, we are not talking about new purchases," writes Teraz.
According to the publication, the head of the Ministry of Defense also confirmed that Slovakia and Ukraine are negotiating at the state level on an agreement for the purchase by Kiev of self-propelled howitzers Zuzana 2 of Slovak production. Currently, there is a discussion about the number of howitzers purchased and their price.
The minister suggested that we are talking about at least one battery, that is, about eight howitzers. "But, perhaps, there will be more of them," Ya. Nadia quotes RIA Novosti.
