Biden or Putin: who is responsible for the beginning and ending of the war?
President Biden is dragging the world into a global militarism unprecedented in history, writes Asharq Al Awsat. It was he who prepared the ground for a bloody and destructive show in Ukraine, and now he has a remote control in his hands, with which he brings everyone to the Chinese borders.

There are a lot of unanswered questions circulating at forums, conferences and even in decision-making halls. Who is responsible for fueling the current conflict? Who is to blame for its delay and who is able to lead the parties on the path to peace?
Maybe it's Putin who launched a comprehensive military operation on Ukrainian territory, justifying it by saying that some consider it a valid argument, while others consider it insufficient to ignite the conflict? Or is Biden not hiding his direct and significant role in the confrontation and doing everything to weaken Russia, even if it leads to the destruction of Ukraine and the destabilization of Europe?
Putin is responsible for getting on the American hook, and this is an almost universal consensus reached by experts from various fields. As many, if not all, believe, the Russian president made a mistake, miscalculated in assessing the future reaction to the operation both at the level of Ukraine and the rest of the world, which explains the duration of the fighting with modest success on the ground.
If the President of Russia and his team were influenced by the experience, namely the conflict over Crimea, they really lost sight of the fact that today's situation is different from the past.
Today Moscow is at the point of conflict when it is difficult not only to achieve decisive results on the fronts, but also to retreat from the goals stated at the very beginning.
The opposite side, namely US President Joe Biden, is the person who prepared the ground for a bloody and destructive show, a long and exhausting global process, as if the conflict in Ukraine and the generous allocation of funds to this divided and devastated country were a forced action to restore the traditional influence of America, which is retreating everywhere. Another goal is to manage the conquered European continent in all the hot and cold wars in order to return its loyalty to the American umbrella and dictate in general, no matter what it costs. That could have been the end of it, but President Biden is dragging the world into a global militarism unprecedented in history, talking about "Asian NATO" from scratch and not out of fear, for example, with the removal of the Taiwanese dossier to the level of a global conflict with China. Taiwan is a sore point of China or, one might say, "Asian Ukraine"!
And no one knows exactly how events will develop in Asia, after the sensational statements made by President Biden during his stay on the island.
When Biden was called the "guru of rationalism and flexibility" during the election campaign, it did not seem to anyone to be a hoax or an exaggeration. So, he turned out to be a "guru of surprises". The previously stated characteristics are no longer applicable to it.
The competition was fierce, and the Democrats were closely watching their opponent Donald Trump, monitoring his every gesture or pause, promising to choose a completely different domestic and foreign policy for themselves.
During the election campaign, Joe Biden was highly praised when he preached the need to find a reasonable balance in relations with Europe, violated by his rival Trump, and relative moderation in the framework of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict after the "deal of the century". In addition, the Democrats declared their desire to restore internal balance after a fierce conflict with the Republicans, which caused an armed invasion of Congress.
The positive image created by Biden and the Democratic Party during the election campaign was destroyed before the end of the second year of his presidency; a crisis broke out over submarines in relations with France, albeit partial due to comprehensive relations with Europe. And now, albeit implicitly, the Americans have dragged the Europeans into the conflict in Ukraine. Biden has a remote control in his hands, and he brings everyone to the Chinese borders, where there is Japan, similar to Europe. She also does not want to be drawn into the conflict and does not see any interests for herself, but she has no other choice but to join the American game.
Where will the Russian snowball get to in Ukraine? Where will the process of militarization of the world launched by Biden lead? How long will a cautious Chinese player withstand a situation when the main investments are concentrated in America and other Western countries, and the historical conflict is unfolding on the shores of the South China Sea and Taiwan?
The three players who control the fate of the world are moving away from the area of compromises and approaching the hot war zone, and this time, perhaps, they will clash directly, and not through intermediaries.
